He is a member of the Palestinian parliament; a 2005 presidential candidate; General Secretary of the Palestinian National Initiative and former Minister of Information under the first National Unity Government in Palestinian history. He has made an extraordinary contribution to initiatives which peacefully challenge the ongoing Israeli Occupation of Palestine, as well as efforts to build the institutional framework of Palestinian civil society and promote the principles of internal democracy and good governance.

The public meeting is a unique opportunity to gain an insight into the current political situation in Palestine from one of its most prominent politicians - we look forward to seeing you there.

Following his death in New York in march 2011, Sean Cronin's ashes are to be scattered in his native BALLINSKELLIGS on Saturday 17th September - following Mass at 11am in local DUNGEAGAN church.
Reception afterwards, 2pm in nearby WATERVILLE Lake Hotel
As well as serving in the southern Irish state Defence Forces, and as IRA Chief of Staff in the 1950s, Cronin was also Irish Times US Correspondent from the1960 until his retirement, initially under the great Irish Times (and its last Protestant) Editor, Douglas Gageby

Singers, musicians, song writers and friends of Brian will come together to celebrate the life of Brian Moore, life long political activist, singer and song writer and founding member of the ‘People of no Property'; artist and creator of the acclaimed ‘Cormac’ cartoons; playwright and member of the ‘Radical Arts Group’.
A gathering of Brian’s friends will perform on the night in the Black Box on 29 June 2011 - Starting 8-30 pm sharp.
